The course
The course comprises of 3 main themes:

Local, national, international and global areas of interest

Current and future study and employment
What sort of student does well at this subject?
Someone who has studied French in KS3
Someone who can work both independently and as part of a group
Someone who enjoys communicating
Someone who enjoys learning about and experiencing other cultures
Someone who is willing to build their confidence with the language by contributing orally in class & using the target language in lessons at every opportunity.
Someone who is willing to take positive risks in lessons in order to improve their fluency and accuracy.
The work you would do

You will study a wide range of topics within the three themes
-
You will build up your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills for each topic

You will sit separate listening, reading, speaking and writing exams at the end of Year 11 (each worth 25% of your final grade)

You will sit your final exams either at foundation tier (maximum possible grade 5) or higher tier (grades 4 – 9). All four skill areas will have to be entered at the same tier.
