Option choices at Wyvern

Wyvern tries to give each student his/her first choice. However, due to staffing and accommodation issues it is not

always possible to achieve this. The option package for 2018 contains flexibility with increased guidance for our students.

Each subject area provides advice on the main learning styles that are employed during the delivery of their courses.

Students need to ensure that the option choices they make are suited to their own preferred learning styles.

Each student will follow an individualised pathway through the Key Stage 4 curriculum.

Wyvern is keen to ensure that each student is given the opportunities to ‘advance’ whilst care needs to be taken to avoid

‘overload’. Each student will need to be self-analytical and consider their own ‘work ethic’ before making their option decisions.

We know that student motivation is critical to success.
